Title: Blended Retirement System
Description: The new retirement package for the military takes effect Jan. 1, 2018. For military members who came on board between 12/31/05 and 12/31/17, find out what options you have available to determine which plan is best for you.
Speaker: Cheyanne Pace is a blogger, Personal Financial Counselor and avid traveler. She provides financial education for those who want to use their money as a tool to live the life they desire. Before arriving at USAG Bavaria, Cheyanne lived and worked in sunny San Diego in support of the world’s greatest Navy.
Session II:
Title: Make Your Experiences Work for YOU… so Your Resume Zooms to the Top of the Stack
Description: As military spouses, we often experience “gap years,” or pauses in employment. During gap years, we might volunteer, pursue a new hobby, or learn a new skill, but many of us get to a point when we ask ourselves: “How do I explain this on my resume?” Or worse, “Will an employer even think this is valuable?” Some of us omit these experiences entirely, but they can actually show an employer what a stellar candidate you are. In this session, learn effective strategies to leverage volunteer experiences, build on your skills, and show an employer that you’re ahead of the pack.
Speaker: Natalie Hayek is a freelance writer, Air Force spouse, and mom of two. She provides content writing services for nonprofit and education clients, and she also writes regularly for Military Spouse Magazine and MilitarySpouse.com. Before turning to freelance writing, Natalie worked for several years as a program director and consultant for a Hawaii-based nonprofit.
Session III :
Title: Self-Leadership
Description: We will discover what self-leadership is and why it is important, especially in military life. We will learn how to develop self-leadership and practice some activities to apply it in our daily life.
Speaker: Sunny Kim Kindig is a long-time AWAG supporter and past Annual and Area Seminar speaker. She is the CEO and Founder of the Global Leadership Training Center where she has developed and taught programs on Self-Leadership, Communication, Job Interviews, and Global Leadership to students, businesses (including Fortune 500 companies), and non-for-profit organizations. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Korea and a Master of Arts in International Studies--Development and Cooperation from Korea University.

Session IV:
Title: Examining Your Leadership Style
Description: Seminar attendees will identify their innate leadership approach and examine the alternative styles of others in order to incorporate various approaches into their personal and professional lives.
Speaker: Kellie Matack is an Emergency and Disaster Manager, State Department Investigator, professional Master Ballet Instructor, Army spouse and mother to three beautiful children. She donates countless hours creating exercises, conducting preparedness activities and developing emergency plans for the US Army Garrison Bavaria. Most recently she worked on an IMCOM working group and developed the first ever standardized Installation Emergency Management Plan that will soon be instituted across all garrisons. When she is not assisting the Garrison she teaches Red Cross courses, is a member of the Disaster Action Team, and teaches FRG and AFTB courses for Army Community Services. Before turning to the career field of emergency management, Mrs. Matack danced with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre but following marriage, she soon found her calling for the emergency and disaster management field. She then became a Mountain Search and Rescue Paramedic Team Lead and eventually a consultant to the Riverside Emergency Response Unit.
