HCSC Building #741
Class Descriptions
7 Ways to Protect our Children - Maria Ebert, HES School Counselor - We can’t always stop predators from attempting to victimize our kids but we can teach them how to handle uncomfortable situations before they escalate or get them the help they need quickly if they are taken advantage of. Preventative communication techniques to build trust so your kids are not easily manipulated by those who would use their insecurities against them.
Lunch Keynote - Nickayla Myers-Garner will share her story of tragedy. As a Gold Star Family Member she lost the love of her life to the war in Afghanistan but had the resilience to overcome and build a new life while honoring her past love. A lesson in positivity despite diversity.
Finding your Inner Writer - Clair Teter, Editor/Writing Coach - If you need to break through your writer’s block and start journaling, blogging, writing that novel you have inside you or documenting your travels, you will leave this class inspired to finally put pen to paper and get writing!
Color your Team Effective - Christine Swift, ACS - Effective teams are made up of the most colorful individuals. Understanding your own attributes and how you blend with other “colors” can help you appreciate the different colors within your own team/family/organization and prevent clashes of color personalities.
