Session I:
Title: The Art of Volunteer to Career
Description: Volunteer work is valuable to the community, but it can also be valuable to the individual. Find out how to best leverage volunteer work by choosing the work that best suits your goals, working with a volunteer role to get the most out of it for your resume and how to market yourself to the industry using your newly developed skills. Career-minded individuals will gain valuable insight into the possibilities that volunteering can offer both personal and professional development. Join this class to explore how your career goals don’t have to be put on “hold” – keep working on you!
Speaker: Nikole Schmidt is an Air Force Spouse with 10 years of spouse experience in the Active Duty Air Force Special Operations Command. Having volunteered for everything from Spouses’ Clubs, the Key Spouse program, the Red Cross and other key organizations across the military community, she knows first hand how demanding volunteer work can be – and also how valuable. With over 8 years of experience in the development and fundraising field, Nikole has used her life experiences to rise to the top of her non-profit market and become a founding executive officer, Chief Development Officer for The Paradigm Switch. With this organization, Nikole spearheads the military career development issue our nation is facing and enables spouses to work from anywhere to unleash their full potential.

Session III :
Title: Brand YOU: How Your Personal Brand Can Make You An Effective Leader
Description: What’s your personal brand? We all have one, but do we intentionally think about how it impacts our leadership? In this seminar, we will discuss what a personal brand is, why we should care about it, and how we can use it be more effective leaders – both at home and at work.
Speaker: Nicole Capehart holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland University College and an MBA degree with a dual focus on Organizational Behavior and Strategic Management and Policy. She is SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional) qualified. Currently, Nicole is an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Business. She has been teaching there since 2016 and with her teaching expertise on Human Resources, Leadership, Diversity, and Career Management. She is passionate about helping students connect their personal brands to their leadership so they can be more effective in the workplace.
Session IV :
Title: Principles of Leadership
Description: This is an opportunity for participant to explore ways of building effective teams, as well as improving communication, workplace relationships , and employee retention. We will be discussing Principles of Leadership and Followership, Leadership Styles, and the traits of effective Leaders.
Speaker: Mr. Ricky J. Woodard is a Unit Training Manager for the 48th Force Support Squadron. He has over 40 years of continuous government service. He retired from the United States Air Force on 1 November 2003, after more than 26 years of active duty service. During these years he served in a variety of positions such as Security Specialist and Tactician, Substance Abuse Control and Treatment Program Counselor, Professional Military Education Program Manager/Instructor, USAF First Sergeant, Deputy Director Family Support Center, and Community Liaison NCO. In the 15 years since retirement he has served as Human Resources Office Manager and Recruiter, and Library Lead Technician. Mr. Woodard has earned degrees in Personnel Administration, Social Services, and Criminal Justice, and has years of academic instruction, facilitation and counseling experience.
